Howdy Neighbour
Mom told us about a farmer in her community who greeted friends with a warm handshake and a cheery “Howdy Neighbour”. His approach has resonated with me for seven decades.
This blog marks a new era in my journey. During the last year, I’ve published a novel and a prescription for improving Canadian governance. A third book is nearing completion. To let folks know about my ideas; I developed a website, www.VillageSource.net. It contains pages and blogs intended to provoke reflection and consensus. Today, I launch the website. If all goes according to plan; this (and future) blogs will automatically post to Facebook and Twitter.
My family inspires me. In this past week, our grandchildren have continued building character through school, karate, music, soccer, and speaking to a “Me to We” crowd. They are wonderful villagers growing in a home where “Life is beautiful” captures the family philosophy. Their parents do their best to ensure expectations align with individual commitments. We applaud.
I expect to write a weekly piece to encourage collegial integration of expectations with individual commitments. I hope you will include me in your journey.
